Dialogues with Future Scenarios

ARC 552 is Dialogues from Future Scenarios. It is a conclusion of ARC 550 Dialogues with Urban Context and ARC 551 Dialogues of Use and Form and an overall development of Poole as a town.

Using the Curiosity Shop and Music School as a starting point using the knowledge gained exploring Poole and the urban context as well as looking at typologies to help the design of the Music School. This unit is the opportunity to put them to practice and speculate future scenarios for the architectural and urban development in Poole and look into possible future changes to the context. The possible changes in the future must have reference to past and current architectural, urban and social research, these include current architectural practices and relevant research to past architecture that inspired the project.

Ecological Urbanism is the project title focusing on possible future changes relating to ecological change and environmental impact leading to a ‘catastrophe’. Looking at Poole Harbour along with figures and graphs. The sea levels are rising over the years due to climate change. Which is a current problem globally and not just specifically with Poole. The levels of the sea will rise leading to canals running through Poole. There will be a newly designed urbanism inclusive of urban morphology analysis in reference to past, present and future architectural analysis and proposes to coincide with the new context of Poole and support the new changes of the canals.
Japanese Book Binding used for final A3 Reports.
